N. C. C.

Facilities for N. C. C. training have been provided by 7th Maharashtra Battalion. Students found physically fit in medical examination from F. Y. and S. Y. B. Com. Classes can enroll themselves as cadets at this N. C. C. Battalion. The Course of Training extends over two academic years and students have to attend at least 80% of the parades and all the N. C. C. camps held during the year so as to keep terms in the College.

On Completion of the course, really bright and promising cadets are recommended for the regular commission in Armed Forces. Besides encouraging habits of leadership and discipline, NCC training offers the cadets an opportunity to improve their physique and to imbibe the qualities of sportsmanship and team-work.

About 100 students are selected under N. S. S., which is an alternative to N. C. C.

   

Placement Cell

The college has career counseling and placement cell. Many companies in an around Maharashtra area are approaching to the college for placements. Many good companies and Banks have recruited students from our college normally only 20% of the students passing graduation exams are interested in expecting placements.

Placement Record
The college maintains the record of only those students who are placed through campus interview however very few graduate students are interested in getting placements after graduation.

Quality of Placement
Many reputed companies like Infosys, Mico, Crompton Greaves, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, ABN Ambro Bank have absorbed our students. The students from our college are getting quality placements in India and abroad.

Vyavahar

The College Annual "VYAVAHAR" is published every year sometime in the month of March/ April. It chronicles the life of the College in all its aspects and also, contains articles on economic, commercial and other subjects. The Magazine Committee also includes students’ representatives.

 

Vidyarthini Manch

In view of the circular (No. SW/203/97 dated 26.08.97) issued by the Director, Students’ Welfare, University of Pune, the College constituted a Vidyarthini Manch in the year 1997-98. The Vidyarthini Manch was established with an objective of creating a better, safe and healthy atmosphere for the girl students with opportunities for self-analysis and continuous development. These objectives are achieved by conducting various programmes on current issues and on women oriented subjects. Through Vidyarthini Manch an attempt is made to provide the girl -students with a platform for self-expression and interaction with the outside world. Various types of programmes are conducted for enrichment of the personalities of the girl students. Programmes include Lectures, Film and Slide Shows, Group Discussions, Street Plays, Seminars and Workshop, Competitions, Demonstrations and Poster Display.

Students' Council

The Students’ Council is a body of representatives students to promote social, literary, intellectual and co-curricular activities of the college. It arranges lectures, discussions, debates, tours, excursions and other similar activities. The activities of the Council are organized by a managing Committee under the President-ship of the Principal and Chairmanship of one senior staff member. Elections to the Council are held as per the University rules in the month of July/August.

Theme of the Seminar - Retirement Planning in the Emerging Socio Economic Environment

Retirement is one of the most significant events in an individual's life. It is a state of complete withdrawal from employment along with the entitled benefits related to it. Retirement is transition form work to no work. If the retirement is planned properly, it can be more secured and enjoyable. Retirement planning means saving sufficient funds to provide for a comfortable life style after retirement and psychological preparation for changing the mindset in the positive way.

The need to plan early for retirement has become very essential. once you have such a plan in place , you can be fairly confident that you can retire peacefully.

Due to fast changing socio-economic environment the need to plan early for retirement has become the need of the day. a little bit of planning is needed to enable you to enjoy your golden days.

Focus areas: The scope of proposed seminar includes:

  • economic aspects
  • financial aspects
  • social aspects
  • psychological aspects
  • health related aspects

Objectives:

  1. To generate the awareness about the need of early retirement planning.
  2. To provide the information about the various avenues for making the financial planning for retirement.
  3. To develop the right positive mental attitude towards the retirement.

Seminar dates 21st to 23rd December, 2007.

Call for papers:- Papers are invited to share empirical and conceptual views on the above mentioned themes. Preferences will be given to research papers. Due to time constraint only few selected papers will be allowed to be presented. All the selected papers will be published in a seminar C.D.

Communication of selection: 30th October 2007

Last date for full paper submission: 15th November 2007. (About 4/5 A-4 size paper)
